This guarantee is by and between ThunderValley Kennel and provides for the benefits outlined below:
ENGLISH AND FRENCH BULLDOG HEALTH GUARANTEE
This guarantee is for all English and French Bulldogs. The following are covered for 6 months from date of birth. These conditions must affect the general day-to-day life of the pet. English and French Bulldogs are prone to several health issues that come with the breed.
-Luxating Patellas must be diagnosed during the initial veterinary examination and reported to Thunder Valley Kennel within 72 hours of arrival. Due to many factors that can affect the condition, Thunder Valley Kennel cannot be responsible for luxating patellas that are not evident at the time of arrival or initial vet exam.
-Legg-Perthes is normally diagnosed around 10 months of age. If the dog is diagnosed with leg perthes and surgery is required a biopsy must be performed on the femoral head to determine for a fact that if it is leg perthes and not an injury, as an injury can mimic leg perthes. If the puppy/dog has injured itself in any way in the hip area we will not cover any surgery since the injury can look like leg perthes.
-Anesthetic deaths are not covered. Anytime an animal under goes anesthesia the owner and vet must assume some liability. Many times anesthetic deaths go without a specific diagnosis due to the many variables that are involved.
-Heart Murmurs should be diagnosed during the initial vet examination since it is not Thunder Valley Kennel’s policy to ship any animal with this condition. Heart murmurs can occur for many reasons that are never of any consequence to the pet or the pet’s quality of life. Any other heart murmur that is diagnosed after the initial vet exam must be affecting the day-to-day life of the pet and require daily medications to qualify.
-Behavioral problems are extremely complex in nature with many factors influencing the overall behavior of the pet. The main influence of behavior is the home environment and the owners. The breeder is not responsible for this since the puppies are raised to be sociable and loving.
-Testicles are not guaranteed on any puppy that is sold as a pet. The customer will be notified prior to the delivery of the puppy if one or both testicles are not present. If a puppy is bought as a stud Thunder Valley Kennel will have to keep the puppy until it is 4-6 months of age to guarantee the testicles. If the customer does not want to wait this length of time then Thunder Valley Kennel is not responsible if the puppy does not get both testicles.
Hypoglycemia (sugar drop) is not guaranteed. This is common in all small breeds of dogs. All necessary information is provided to the new owner and this becomes their responsibility.
-Worms and parasites-Every effort will be made to ensure that no parasites or worms are present in the new puppy. Due to the life stages of these hosts, I cannot guarantee there will never be any present in the puppy. These hosts can include worms, coccidia and giardia. These can be brought on due to the move, stress, change of diet, too much handling and not enough quiet time and/or not eating properly. These conditions are treatable and are not covered under this guarantee.
-Ear mites and ear infection- Every effort will be made to ensure that no ear mites or ear infection are present in the new puppy. Due to the life stages of these hosts, I cannot guarantee there will never be any present in the puppy.
-Colds and Influenza- If the puppy checks out fit for sale at the vet check before transporting, I cannot guarantee against what the puppy may contract in air or ground transport, unless the new owner picks the puppy up at the kennel.
Hip dysplasia -Hip dysplasia almost exclusively occurs in the larger breeds of dogs weighing over 35 pounds, and is the most common cause of rear-end lameness.- It has to do with the structure of the hip joint. Genetics play the largest role in whether or not a dog will develop hip dysplasia. Other factors include environmental (including weight and nutrition) and under what conditions the puppy is raised, also training methods and rearing practices. The first signs often appear at four to nine months of age. Some of the signs of hip dysplasia at this age are: walking with a limp or swaying gait, bunny hopping when at a run and exhibiting difficulty in getting up. If the dog is rolled onto its back, the rear legs resist being spread into a "frog-leg" position. It is important that a veterinarian is consulted to alleviate pain and improve function. Treatment can be most effective for dogs with mild to moderate symptoms that exercise and remain active. There are several surgical treatments available to dogs with more severe symptoms. Again, consultation with your veterinarian is imperative. Due to all the factors we can not guarantee this condition.
Skin Infections, Hot Spots, Interdigital Cysts - -Wrinkles should be checked & cleaned regularly to avoid bacteria build up. Some irritated wrinkles may require a medicated powder or polysporine for more sensitive raw areas. Skin and feet needs to be cleaned and checked on a regular basis. Bulldogs do have some special needs and do require some special care. We can not guarantee these common conditions.
These following conditions that are not congenital or genetic are not covered in this health guarantee: cherry eye, entropian, “loose” hips, skin allergies, coccidian, internal parasites, bacterial or viral infections, elongated soft palette, umbilical hernia which are not genetic or congenital, localized demodectic mange(due to adolescent growth), nasal snares.
-Mortality of a puppy will require a full necropsy (NOT PARTIAL); along with a full blood toxicology report to determine if the breeder is responsible for replacing the puppy.
ThunderValley Kennel does its best to approximate the adult weight of each puppy based on past litters and the size of the parents. We do not guarantee the size since it is not an exact science in projecting the adult weight. If the puppy is being bought as a show breeding dog we must keep the puppy long enough to be able to guaranteed the size and conformation of the puppy.
It is the condition of this guarantee that a licensed vet perform a complete physical examination within 48 hours of arrival in the home. This puppy has received the first shots necessary for its protection to date. However, you must take the shot record we give you to your vet so that he knows what shots were given. ThunderValley Kennel does not pay for health examinations, vaccinations, diagnoses or treatment for anything that does not fall under this guarantee.
FAILURE TO HAVE AN EXAM PERFORMED WITHIN THE 48 HOUR TIME PERIOD WILL RENDER THIS GUARANTEE NULL AND VOID.

This guarantee will be void if the puppy has not been kept current on all shots and veterinary visits. Proof of all shots must be provided if a claim is to be paid.
Should action under the guarantee be necessary, I reserve the right to resolve any problem by the following means and with the stipulations listed below.

(b) Should surgery be required and agreed to by the various consulting veterinarians I will pay up to 50% of the purchase price of the puppy or 50% of the surgical cost, which ever is the lesser amount. This is a one time occurrence.
If a puppy should be shipped back for any reason the buyer is responsible for the shipping cost.
